Listing Guidelines

Rewind Rolodex covers VHS, analog video, and physical media: tape and equipment services, video stores and rental shops, creators working with the format, and resources that help people keep it all running.

• Service Directory — tape cleaning, tape repair, digitization, VCR repair, CRT repair, and related services.
• Physical Store Directory — shops that rent or sell physical media, with the formats they carry.
• Community Directory — artists, filmmakers, labels, and makers working in analog video.
• Resource Directory — guides, archives, communities, and reference material.

Each account maintains one listing. If your work genuinely spans more than one area, select multiple directories on the same listing instead of creating duplicates.

Use the real name of the business, project, or person. Provide contact details you are happy to publish and that reach you. Give the location honestly — if you are mail-in-only or online-only, say so in your description rather than listing a storefront address you do not have.

Pick only the directories and categories that actually describe you. If a category is missing you can suggest one; suggestions appear on your listing once an administrator approves them.

Select the services you really offer and, for video stores, the formats you really carry. Do not select everything to widen your reach — inaccurate selections are the most common reason a listing is sent back for changes.

• One logo or profile picture, plus up to five listing images.
• Upload only images you own or have permission to use. No stock photos passed off as your own storefront or work.
• JPEG, PNG, or WebP. Images are cropped, resized, and converted automatically, so upload the largest clean version you have.
• No logos in the listing-image slots, no text-heavy adverts, no watermarked stock.

• Deceptive claims, invented credentials, or fake certifications.
• Illegal services, pirated content sales, or unsafe practices.
• Harassing, hateful, or adult content.
• Spam, keyword stuffing, or listings for unrelated businesses.

New listings are reviewed before they appear publicly. An administrator may approve, request changes with a short note, or decline. Once your listing is live, edits publish immediately, while new logos and images are reviewed individually — your current image stays live until a replacement is approved.

Keep your listing current from your dashboard. You can replace or remove your logo and any listing image, and you can delete the whole listing at any time.
