The GRTV Media Preservation Suite, a service of the Grand Rapids Community Media Center, hosts the only public-facing, DIY media preservation suite in the Midwest equipped with a professional, archival-grade analog signal chain for VHS/S-VHS, including professional VCRs, TBC with frame sync, and lossless digital transcoder. We're also the region's only lab providing community DIY access to FireWire bitstream transfer for MiniDV and DVCam tapes, preserving original tape metadata. Our mission is to democratize access to archival preservation by bridging the gap between high-end digitization standards and public accessibility, putting institutional-grade hardware normally restricted to museums and universities directly into the hands of the community. Access to the Media Preservation Suite is completely free to members following a low-cost certification ($40 annual membership + $40 one-time certification fee). Certified members enjoy ongoing access to all preservation offerings (VHS, DV, compact audio cassette, reel-to-reel audio, digital optical disc formats, and transparency scanning) as well as consultation from staff.

Resurrection Media is dedicated to 'keepin it physical' since 2018 by preserving vintage toys, books, memorabilia, video games and most importantly, movies! With a collection spanning thousands of titles, we decided to curate an Ebay storefront in 2023. Our mission is to prevent landfill/retail waste by resurrecting dead media formats as an alternative to passive cloud-based consumption, eliminating lifetime subscription expenses that do not coincide with utilization. A tape, disc, or album can be held, shared and cherished. Inspired by everything from MST3K to Moleskine notebooks, Rez Media's listings try to bridge the analog-digital gap through tactile items with stories worth saving. Current inventory is stored in a climate controlled (and smoke free) home, with live exhibitions and events whenever possible Please explore the store's full list of categories and see what you may have once had as well. Bundling is encouraged for shipping discounts and all items ship insured! Location: United States Member since: Jul 07, 2015 Seller profile: reelamericanhero

XFR Collective partners with artists, activists, and community organizations to lower the barriers to preserving at-risk audiovisual media – especially unseen, unheard, or marginalized works – through digitization, screenings, educational workshops, and pop-up events. Operating through a non-hierarchical model, we work to create an inclusive environment in which to explore practical methods for media preservation, archiving, and access.
